The trip was everything I could of hoped for and more. I was able to hang out with people that I haven't talked to in a awhile and catch up, and was able to see what my future would be like when I enroll into a UC school. Going through that painful bus drive was worth it because I have never had that experience of going on three day school trip.
They all had a different social experience that made them both fun and welcoming. I personally love Santa Barbara's tour because I felt like I was with my people seeing how they talked and interacted with each other. I noticed that everyone on that trip had a collage that they easily connected with and was able to call it their new home. I was able to how I can be both independent and be able to form friendships for support. The drive through me off a bit seeing how I have to drive 6 hours to see my family in San Diego, but I realised that it’s nothing compared to people that have to fly over to see their family then fly back. Being in Santa Barbara wasn’t that much different from being in San Diego other than having the beach way closer in Santa Barbara. I’ve been able to somewhat take care of myself and I feel that once I am on my own I will able to look after myself better because I have to and can’t fall back on anything and I am looking forward to it. When I look into a collage I am mainly looking if I am able to depend on the people around me for help and if there will be ways for me to chill out because I don’t want to be away from home and not have a place to relieve stress when the work overcomes me. My biggest concern is being able to adapt to that new lifestyle of planning for myself and being able to keep up with what I have to do because I really have to in order to become an adult and still have fun. I am very interested in studying abroad because it is a completely new environment that I need to adapt to and through that experience I will be able to learn so much. I am very interested in Santa Barbara’s sports and dorm activities because through that I am able to get to know the community better and make friends that way. I have been saying this a lot and I have very interested in going to Santa Barbara, but other than that I am also very interested in going to Academy of Art in San Francisco because It focuses on art which is the career that I am working towards. I would like to stay in state for the time being and when I am older I want to move about and maybe expand my learning and get a double major in an art school up in New York. |
